Crockpot Romance

Romance can be like a crockpot-meal.

When you cook a meal in a crockpot, slowly melding differing tastes and spices in the warm atmosphere, you can get a wonderful taste sensation. The blending of flavors and smells brings lasting memories of this unique meal.

Life and romance are like that.

Most of the time ideas for these articles have simmered in my mind for weeks before they become an article.

This happens with other speakers and writers.

My life coach, Richard Flint (www.RichardFlint.com) shared with me how his presentations come together.

They stars with the birth of idea, a topic. For weeks or months his mind plays with the idea, letting it simmer until it takes final shape – sometimes reaching maturity just hours before he speaks.

Some of my best romantic ideas for romancing my sweetheart took months to form.

First a “what-if” idea is birthed – something different from the routine.

What if:

  • A surprise birthday trip to New York City?
  • A Pandora charm before a concert?
  • An evening of slow dancing – just the two of us?

The idea continues to take shape with new parts coming and leaving. I trust my mind to play with it and let it mature uncensored.

Have you experienced the birth of a unique idea for romancing your sweetheart form in your mind?

Maybe you hesitate letting it grow. Or you start rushing it to fruition.

My suggestion: trust yourself enough and let your mind play with the idea. Let it begin to take on a life of its own and grow to mature.

Then, when it’s simmered and grown to that wonderfully blended idea, and before it disappears in overcooked uncertainty, bring it to fruition to romance your sweetheart.

What ideas for romancing your sweetheart have been simmering inside? I know you have or have had them. Give it birth.

Robert, the hopeless romantic
