Romantic Surprises

It was a typical day at work: an abundance of expectations / projects / short deadlines. The kind of days we share in common.

Without warning, the phone chirped (or buzzed or whatever) to signal a text message had arrived.

“Just wanted you to know how happy I am we met and you’re still in my life.”

First day back from vacation and facing 200 emails, the office phone rings (again). The receptionist . . . calling to say there’s a flower delivery.

The note:
“Something to brighten your first day back from vacation.”

These are Romantic surprises and will set your relationship apart from others.

When you intrudes your sweetheart’s day with unexpectedly romance, as these two incidences illustrate, it adds a “wow” to the relationship.

Everyone can romance their sweetheart on the expected occasions: flowers for Valentine’s day, dinner at a favorite restaurant on date night out, a card to celebrate an anniversary.

Creating romantic surprises for your sweetheart can bring about three results that grow your relationship:

  1. Your sweetheart knows you’re thinking about him/her, even when it’s not an “expected” date;
  2. For hours after the romantic surprise, positive and pleasant thoughts about you and your relationship with your sweetheart will continue to intrude your sweetheart’s day;
  3. The impressions you make with the romantic surprise creates a deposit in your romance bank account with your sweetheart.

Let me share some guidelines for giving your sweetheart romantic surprises:

  • Do it randomly;
  • Do it quietly (only your sweetheart needs to knows);
  • Do it in a variety of ways.

Even if your sweetheart “doesn’t like” surprises, I’ll bet she/he would smile and feel warm fuzzies if you gave a romantic surprise this week.

What kind of “romantic surprise” would you give your sweetheart? Leave me a comment. Robert
