Remember VW Bugs?
Maybe you owned one.
Volkswagens (literally the “people’s car”) best known for the Beetle, were originally designed by Ferdinand Porsche. Yes, that Porsche. It is one of the top 10 best-selling cars of all time (www.247wallst.com).
The Bug was the choice of teenagers from the 50’s thru the 70’s. It was small, economical, dependable and affordable.
One drawback was its lack of power – no get-up-and-go. People joked VW overdrive was a long downhill stretch, with a sail and the car in neutral.
Neutral works great . . . if you’re going nowhere but downhill.
You’ve probably seen a few relationships like that. I have.
It starts out wonderfully, each romancing the other with words and/or gifts and/or time and/or touch.
Then the relationship goes into VW Bug cruise control – neutral.
Slowly, almost imperceptibly romance fades. Like the coasting VW Bug, it looks like it’s flying along. Yet the relationship is actually losing momentum and heading downhill.
If you’re there today, you can put it back in gear and get it going again. It may take some downshifting and be a long, slow acceleration, but you can get going again.
If your relationship’s in neutral and heading downhill, here’s an plan you can initiate to put your relationship in gear.

Don’t know if I have a formula to center myself. I have a specific time I write for this blog. At times it is a challenge to decide what I’ll write about. Once I decide on the theme for that specific blog, I let the writing flow. Then comes the hard part – rewriting and condensing and rewriting. I typically rewrite and edit a blog 4 or more times before I send it out. My suggestion is to find a time and place where you can have some peace and quiet then write as you think, knowing you will go back to condense and rewrite until you’ve said what you wanted to say.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children.
