They were all there: Belle, Cinderella, Snow White – each princess dancing with her Prince Charming. Twirling and spinning in perfect rhythm only found in Disney fairytales.
My sweetheart and I watched this live “Dream-Along With Mickey” show while standing in another line at the Magic Kingdom.
Mickey & Minnie watched spellbound from the opposite side of the stage.
“How romantic!”, exclaimed Minnie “… I wish I could do that.”
“You could”, Mickey said in his high, mouse voice.
“I wish, but I’m not a princess, moaned Minnie.
Then Mickey said those magical words. “You’ve always been a princess to me.”0
Wish I could tell you Mickey & Minnie started waltzing, birds started singing and rabbits stood at attention. Trouble is, I don’t know what happened. We missed that Disney moment because the line moved us around the corner and away from the stage.
I have a philosophy.
- If you treat a woman like a lady (princess), she’ll live up to that expectation.
- If you treat a man like a gentleman (prince), that’s how he’ll act.
Now if you try to fake it and don’t truly believe it inside, your sweetheart will know.
But if you know your sweetheart is a treasure, maybe a little rough at times and a work-in-process (like you?), treat him/her like a princess or prince. You may find that dreams do come true, bluebirds will serenade you, rabbits will hop for joy, fairy dust will fly and . . . .
OK. You may not have a fairytale romance but what you may discover instead is a real romance with a real princess/prince – your sweetheart, who’s always been a princess/prince to you.
