No matter who’s the driver, it’s frustrating for both to get lost. I know from experience the tension that builds when you miss turns or are just going in large circles.
Next time that happens, as the passenger, you can turn frustration into a romantic moment between the two of you.
When you sense your sweetheart has lost his/her way and the tension inside the car is elevating, start noting your surroundings. What do you see? Find something interesting along the “lost route”.
As your sweetheart’s irritation continues to mount, point out what you found. Say, “Look at that. If we hadn’t come this way, we wouldn’t have seen _____.”
Say it sincerely, enthusiastically and smile. It will diffuse the anger, bringing you closer and could create a special memory.
Let me know how it goes. Robert
