Focused Time

When you’re together and alone in the living room with a few quiet minutes, very deliberately:

  1. Close your computer;
  2. Power down your phone;
  3. Turn off the TV;
  4. Put the remotes on a table away from both of you;
  5. Turn off extra lights.

Go ahead. Make a show of it. By this time your sweetheart’s curiosity will be aroused.

Sit next to your sweetheart and ask, “What would you like to talk about?”

Let an awkward moment or two pass quietly. If your sweetheart seems uncomfortable, ask a question like, “If you had a choice, would you rather pilot a submarine or a Camaro? Why?”

Then actively listen.

I hope during this holiday season you will take a few extra minutes to let your sweetheart know how important he/she is to you. It’ll only take a couple quiet minutes together. Merry Christmas. Robert

PS: If you’re looking for a very last minute gift, give an ebook. Go to Amazon.com then look for and order “A Year Of Romantic Interludes“. It’s a gift that’ll keep giving.
