Romantic Starter Fluid

Which of these two messages do you think would be better received by your sweetheart?

  • What on earth did I think about all the time before you?
  • After all these years, no matter what’s going on, I still smile when your brown eyes meet mine.

I think you’d agree the second phrase would probably get the better response of the two.

Why would that be?

Listen. This is important. The first felt like a pickup line from a cheap barstool. The second seems more realistic, more personal and more believable.

When your sweetheart prefers to be romanced with words and you’re not a Language major, it may be difficult to craft the perfect romantic message expressing how much you care about your sweetheart.

Sometimes we need a little starting fluid.

If you’ve worked on a car, especially if you’ve done a major engine rebuild, you know that cars don’t want to be awoken from their “deep sleep”. After a couple failed attempts at bringing the engine back to life, mechanics will grab a can of starting fluid, which adds fuel to the combustion cylinder quickly. Its purpose is to give the engine a little something extra to encourage ignition.

In romance, we sometimes need a little starting fluid – an idea giving us a boost for a romantic message to share with our sweetheart.

Take the following phrase: “If I could give you one thing in life, I’d give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Only then would you realize how special you are to me.”

How could you modify that phrase and turn it into a romantic thought your sweetheart would cherish?

Think about it. Customize it. Then choose the moment to share your romantic thought with your sweetheart.

Continue searching for new “starting ideas” to create romantic thoughts for your sweetheart.

What’s your “starter fluid” idea you could use today?
